It’s quite frustrating that people just treat marriage as if it is a simple thing that once you get bored or exhausted you just quit. LOVE

One of the most misinterpreted word in the world. When we talk of love, it is not just about feelings. Yes you’ve heard that before. “Love is a choice”. Yes you’ve heard that one as well but you know what? Love is not a choice.

Love is a must! 

 Why? It’s because people can’t live without love. Some might say “not really” but in reality people have feelings whether you like it or not. Loving someone is not at all rainbows and butterflies. You truly love someone if you can give up or sacrifice that one most special thing for you or a part of yourself just for that person. It’s like how God gave His only Son for us whom He loves.

TRUST

Trusting your partner may be a little hard for some especially when they have trust issues. But it is not only a must that you do because how can you love someone whom you do not trust. Yes there will be times that you’ll doubt one another but that is alright. It doesn’t mean that you don’t trust your partner. You’re just scared of being left behind or cheated. Another thing is 

“It’s not only that you trust your partner, it is necessary that you trust yourself too”.   

You can say that you truly trust your partner and yourself if at the back of your mind, you stop asking yourself what ifs and you stop defending yourself or your partner in certain things. In trusting, you don’t need an explanation, you just know.

SENSITIVITY

It is when you can talk about everything without hurting each other or without the other one getting mad or lonely. Yes it may be inevitable but if you have sensitivity within your relationship, talking around certain topics, like the past or persons your partner dislike, would be very easy and not at all too emotional but of course sensitivity also requires that you choose and use your words wisely.

COMPATIBILITY

Another misinterpreted word is compatibility. When you say compatibility, it is not about liking the same movies, having the same things, listening to the same genre of music or doing the same hobbies.

“Compatibility is not having the same likes but having the same wants”.

 They say that opposites attract therefore if you are compatible and you are totally different from one another, you must always meet halfway to meet your wants. Compromising is the key and if that worked then you are totally compatible.

COMFORTABILITY

You can say that you’re comfortable with one another when you can talk about your insecurities and greatest fears with each other. It is when you can just be yourself completely knowing that your partner can handle you and will not leave you. Being comfortable is showing your best and worst side to your partner and vice versa.

This also comes with acceptance. 

You must accept the fact that your other half is like that and you just love every side of him/her no matter their flaws.

SECURITY

Along with being comfortable with one another is being secured with one another.  

Security means two things: being protected and having confidence with each other. 

 Secured as being protected means you know that in a crisis you will be protected and that you will also protect the other. Protection can be physical, emotional or social. For example, you are harassed in social media. You know your partner will come and defend you. While in confidence, you are secured when you trust your partner and yourself as I had said earlier. It can be that you are confident in what the other one is doing or you are confident to say that you are in a relationship with your partner.

MATURITY

Maturity is NOT when you stopped acting childish because in the first place you will not know it’s childish if you are not mature. Maturity is not only when you stop fighting over silly or small things.

 Maturity is facing the problems face-to-face and making the right decisions regarding the matter. 

There is always a way. Couples that break up after having problems must be mature enough to admit that they just don’t want to try the “way” and that instead they walked away. If a couple decided to go in the “way”, they must be mature enough to walk ahead and lose some of themselves in order to gain a lot more. You cannot gain if you don’t have enough space to store it.

VISION – MISSION-GOAL

It is important that you both have the same vision for the future and that both of you are working very hard to make that vision a reality. Creating a vision is easy. Dreaming is in man’s nature but if you don’t put yourself to act you will never get that dream.

 Being a visionary, mission-oriented and goal-driven couple is hard work  

but if you worked very hard you’ll reach that goal. If you are a couple who don’t have any vision for the future then start making one and if you think it’s hard work, yes  it is!

How To: Find Affordable Gift Ideas for Any Occasion

Every year, there are series of important occasions that occur in our lives. In each and every one of those, we practically go to the dilemma of thinking what to get for an anniversary gift, birthday gift, Christmas  gift and so many more that the list could go on and on forever! You wanted to buy him/her this and that but the problem is you’re on a tight budget and that adds up to your dilemma.

So here are some affordable gift ideas to help you out! 

Long letters 

  -Great gift idea especially for women who are fond of reading

-Very old fashioned but never goes out of style

-Better if handwritten than type written ones

-It’s a great gift for family and friends especially when you’re not very vocal about your feelings and insights about them (I personally think most moms and girlfriends will like them)

 

 Bus tickets/receipts/movie tickets

 -This is not for showing off how much you spent for that day.

-You could, for a whole year, write at the back parts what happened that day or what occasion was it. Gather it and wait for the most special event you would really like to give it, like anniversary, engagement proposal day and the likes. (My boyfriend actually does this)

-You’re like documenting the special dates in a less diary way.  

  Cater your talent

I believe that each and every one of us has their own talent. Why not use it? It’ll be more personal and effortful plus you get to practice your talents and that’s good!

*Sketching 

->Draw them or whatever their favorites are. 

*Writing

->Create a poem. For it to be more personal and unique, use the letters of their name as the first letter of the first word on each line!

->Create a short story of their lives or how you met them or like a look into a future that you envision for that person

*Stitching/Embroidery

-> Why not embroider their names or like favorite characters into a handkerchief or towel or anything.

*Performing (Singing and Dancing)

-Create a show, it can be one-man show or you could use the help of others, and create a ticket that is exclusively for that person then perform live.

-You could also compose a song.

*Photographing

 -If you like taking pictures and you’re really good at it, even if you have the right equipment or just your phone, why not capture great shots and edit it then print it. You could write messages at the back of the photo

-If you’re on a budget and didn’t want to print that so much pictures, why not take her to a local park or somewhere nice and beautiful and make her your model for that day. (I really think that girls would like this one). Who wouldn’t want to be a model for a day and get her special someone’s attention, right?

 Give them their favorites

-For this one, a person could only think of food. But I have other ideas for you guys!

*Harry Potter fan

 – give them printed admission forms from Hogwarts or Hogwarts train ticket. I think you can get one and download online for free or if not, you could create them yourself. You could also dress yourself up while giving it. I think a black robe will do!

 

 

*Game of Thrones fan

-everybody loves Khaleesi! Why not boil an egg or more then paint the eggshells like a dragon egg. You could put them in a box and put in the card/label, “Dragon eggs for my Khaleesi!” It’s cute and funny and food at the same time!

 

 *Book lovers

-get something online. There are a lot of ebooks that are free and downloadable. Get them their favorite authors’ books.

 If you don’t have any idea though, I highly recommend ‘A Knight in Shining Armor’ by Jude Deveraux.  It’s about time travel, romance and mystery! 

 

 

 PRESENCE

I always believe that presence > presents. No amount of expensive present can equal to your actual presence. It’s the most practical and memorable gift for everyone. I know this will be appreciated the most by your receiver.
